“Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”
— Revelation 1:17–18
These two verses remind us of one simple truth: Jesus is greater than anything that scares us.
John fell at His feet in awe, overwhelmed by the glory of Christ. But Jesus responded with the most comforting words: “Do not be afraid.” He wasn’t speaking as a distant God, He spoke as the One who defeated death, the One who holds the keys to every battle, every unknown, and every future moment of our lives.
Because He is alive forevermore, we can live without fear. Because He holds the keys, nothing is out of His control. Whatever you may be facing today, be it uncertainty, pressure, or emotional battles, remember: Your life is held by the One who conquered the grave.
And when Jesus holds the keys, no door meant for you can stay shut, and no darkness can overpower His light in your life.
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Thank You for reminding me that I do not have to be afraid.
You are the First and the Last, the Living One who conquered death.
Help me to trust that my life, my future, and every situation I face are securely in Your hands.
Strengthen my heart with Your peace, fill me with courage, and let Your light guide my steps today.
Amen.
