Preparation is often overlooked, yet it is one of the greatest disciplines in the life of a believer. Whether we are preparing to preach, serve, lead, or simply face a new day, God honors hearts that are willing to prepare.

Preparation is more than organizing our notes or planning our schedules. It is about positioning our hearts before God. We pray, study His Word, and depend on the Holy Spirit so that when the moment comes, we are ready.

The Bible reminds us:

“The heart of the righteous studies how to answer, But the mouth of the wicked pours forth evil.” – Proverbs 15:28

Preparation also reflects wisdom. Jesus taught that before building a tower, a person first sits down and counts the cost (Luke 14:28). Wise preparation helps us walk with confidence instead of fear.

Paul encouraged Timothy:

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15

While preparation is our responsibility, the results belong to God. We prepare faithfully, trusting Him to use our efforts for His glory. When preparation meets God’s grace, lives can be transformed.

As you begin this week, ask yourself: What has God called me to prepare for? Don’t wait until the opportunity arrives. Start preparing today.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that preparation is an act of faith and obedience. Help us to seek You diligently, to study Your Word faithfully, and to prepare our hearts for every assignment You have given us. May everything we do bring glory to Your name and point others to Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
